Dr Jessie Posar

Dr Jessie Posar is a Research Fellow in the School of Physics at the University of Wollongong. She obtained her PhD in 2022 on organic semiconductors for x-ray dosimetry from the University of Wollongong where she was awarded the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE) Scholar Gold Medal and the Materials Research Society (MRS) Gold Recipient Graduate Award. She then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Sydney developing nanoengineered bioelectronic systems for all-optical control of neuron growth and stimulation. In 2023, she received the National Intelligence Post-Doctoral Grant to investigate the material and electronic properties of organic semiconductors under extreme ionizing radiation fields to optimise their performance and radiation stability.
